Haters are gonna hate hate hate

In the words of a certain singer, it is hard to ‘Shake it Off’ when the hate is just a drip, drip of constant negatives, put downs, ignorant behaviours and comments. What is it achieving , except to harm a minority group once again.

Pride month this year has been both joyous and emotionally exhausting. Those on the periphery of what is happening to us within the LGBTQ+ community will never understand the complexities and the impact wholly of this hate. In particular the hate directed at us within the Trans community. On Substack I have been a target of such hate just for speaking up and being me. Being accused of some horrendous things just because I am a Non Binary Trans Masculine person and I am not afraid to be me and speak out about it. 

Why read my stuff if you have no interest or just want to be hurtful? There are individuals out there that seem to wait for things to pop up and then decide to target us. Well I have a message for you Bigots. You are bullies. What you are doing is not big and not clever but showing your weakness as human beings and I pity those people around you that have to live within your toxicity. 

Me and my chosen family are happy being ourselves and being able to finally be authentic after hiding for years from people like you. I for one am sick of it and will fight back. I am being my authentic self whether you like it or not.

If you don’t like me, my life then stop reading about me and paying an interest and get a life of your own.

This bullshit is exhausting, however we will overcome and together be stronger.

TRIGGER WARNING

So what has been happening. (Possible trigger warning)  For those who don't know I was raped in March by a high profile individual, someone I met online and had known some other people I knew. Not a complete stranger, but someone I had been conversing with for some time. Someone in a position in his community and is well known in the LGBTQIA community. 6 months on T , the reality

Starting Testosterone was a further step in my transition I knew I needed to take. Yes I had had top surgery first and only a month after surgery I started T. I'm sure some have said why so fast, why all at once? Well for me it wasn't fast, I had waited since the age of 8 for this moment. For me it was now or die tbh. When I 'came out' as non binary trans Masc I wasn't sure if that was right, I wasn't sure if I was still saying and doing things for others. Now I know I was. Transgender, what it means to me.

When I came out again in February to the world I said I was Non Binary. Now at the time I felt that was the safest option, it gave me time to find myself and also inform others change was occurring. Now after 10 months of change, affirming who I am, I can say I am a Trans Guy. I am a guy who is so friggin happy to be able to say this and feel me it is just awesome.  Yes it's scary as fuck, but I need to be authentic to me , no one else. I'm stopping hiding behind the shadows, if people don't like me or who I am that is their problem and not one I am willing to take on. So why has it taken from 8 to now to get here. Self protection.
